We had a great experience here! The house is beautiful and looks just like the pictures. The house is well appointed and has plenty of space for large groups. The location is perfect with so much to do within walking distance. The host was very responsive to our needs and very friendly. Such a lovely traditional Khmer house. Great walkable location from Pubstreet. My cousins and I really enjoyed swimming in natural filtration pool. The hosts are quick to response to questions. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

It was a complete privilege to stay in this beautiful, traditional home. Its quiet location set back from the river road was perfect, yet not far away from all the action in Pub Street. The beds were supremely comfortable in cool rooms; the polished wooden floors felt wonderful underfoot.

If you want to stay in a rural setting, this is the place to choose. It’s a 20 minute. TukTuk ride to Pub Street where all the tourist attractions are. The staff was excellent. They responded quickly to every request. Each of the two bedrooms are en suite and standalone connected by wide generous verandas. The kitchen has the bare minimum of utensils making an interesting challenge if you want to prepare your meals at this homestay. If I ever come back, I would stay here.

we had a wonderful stay at Zachary's place. it had everything we needed in a fairly rural setting with lush vegetation around us. the house and yard are sort of a compound with a surrounding privacy wall. the team of staff could not have been nicer or more hospitable. Getting a lift to the town 10 minutes away or arranging a tour can be done through the team. they were great. 5 stars for sure! Thanks, Zachary!

On oasis in between rice paddies, small villages and rural country life - we felt very privileged to be hosted in such scenic surrounding, in the most comfortable, generous bungalows, with ample space, set in a wonderful garden, overlooking a pond, enjoying sunrise, the sound of Gamelan from a nearby temple or the wedding across the pond. I call this a true escape from the hectic city life we have.

Group of ten absolutely loved the place. The rooms were well appointed, pool was fantastic after a hot day touring the temples, and we felt safe. Local hosts were super helpful. We would definitely come back and stay at this place - can’t say enough great things about this property. We added 2 hour massages for four of us and they were awesome!!

Spacious villa, beautiful grounds, and very clean living quarters! I loved that every room had it's own bathroom and it was a really nice touch that each bed had mosquito nets (there were a lot of mosquitos in the area). The area is a little off the beaten path, but there is a hotel with a coffee shop right across the road and there were always tuktuks parked around to get rides if we didn't want to use Grab. Somneang helped make our stay very comfortable by connecting us with locals that provided in-villa massages and dining, both of which were incredible. The one call-out I'd make is that we definitely could hear the neighbors playing music from our bedrooms, as well as wild animals throughout the night. Not a huge bother to me, but for sensitive/light sleepers, could be worth bringing ear plugs.

We had a great stay and really enjoyed being at Wat Po House. The team were all very responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay and great at helping us plan our trip and excursions. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay at Zachary's place. Everything is beautiful and peaceful, very relaxing ... A lot of convenient services are proposed. Zachary and his staff are very nice and responsive. I would definitely recommend that place !

An excellent place for a large group. Perfect for when you want a bit more privacy than a single large house while also having great central communal areas like the patio, kitchen and pool. But the best part by far was the service from Vina, who was on-site to help us with so many things. The staff was very understanding and accommodating of our unexpected needs, and flexible with things like check-in/out. We plan to be back for sure. And thanks again oun Vina! 🙏

I recommend staying at Khmer Oasis on the Lake to escape the noise of downtown Siem Reap. The house is very nice and comfortable. Zachary and her team were really nice and permanently in touch. It is important to rent a motorcycle because the house is located in a rural area to the south of the city, so there are no supermarkets or restaurants nearby, but you can get to downtown Siem Reap in less than 10 minutes by motorcycle.

We stayed as two families - and the pool was ideal with young children and a searing nearby for the parents to relax and enjoy a drink. Communications were crisp and clear and a door problem was fixed very quickly (impressive given the public holiday). Thank very much!

This is a wonderful place for families and large groups. We were with 7 so the four houses with 6 double beds were ample. The pool is large and lovely. The outdoor dining with the provided chef was very stylish. Modern kitchen and bathrooms, very helpful staff. Only missed an espresso machine. Would definitely be back.

Everything was great, large accommodation and the rooms are spacious with bathroom. The pool is refreshing after a day of sightseeing, not far from the city center (possible on foot or even by tuktuk)

We were a group of 8 friends staying at the villa and had an excellent time there. The villa was spacious (could easily have fit 2 more people), tastefully decorated and came with a well-equipped kitchen. The pool and veranda were exactly as depicted in photos, and we had a really lovely time relaxing in the pool or at the poolside after spending the day trekking. Communicating with the staff was very easy. They were quick to respond, able to provide clear information and were pleasant and professional at all times. We really appreciated that they were able to accommodate our requests to modify our check-in and check-out times at short notice We would highly recommend this villa to group of 6 to 10!

My partner and I LOVED that this property was outside the bustle of Siem Reap, and more in the countryside/farmlands. Even though it's very convenient to reach town/coffee shops/restaurants in a tuk tuk. It did indeed feel like an oasis. The garden, nature and space is gorgeous - did not want to leave the property and its peace. Loved the massive lotus pond right in front of the property - truly unique setting! The wooden house is super cute, spotlessly clean and well set up with everything we needed. Would definitely be staying again!

Excellent service of the management! they support all things, trips, transportations, tuck tuck, bike rental, all other information you need, they accommodation is a little bit far from the city centre (15min with a bike) but really quiet. And the property is in very wonderful natural style.

Zack's place is a beautifully designed house, with private gardens and yard and a lovely lake view. It's down a rural lane, though still convenient to the town center and tourist sites: a perfect Cambodian experience!

Our stay at Zach's house was amazing. It was the kind of real Cambodian experience we had hoped for: filled with nature and the countryside along a small country road, and beautiful surroundings of a modern home surrounded by lush gardens and lounge area for us to soak it all in. We honestly could have spent a week here just relaxing from all our travels. After a long day at Angkor Wat it was the perfect place to wind down! Can't wait to come back again and stay longer. We only had two days this trip but it was a great experience.

This villa is beautiful and the privacy is amazing. Behind a high fence you've got your own gorgeous pool to yourself and you can really escape the hustle and bustle of Siem Reap. Great spot to relax.

Wat Bo House really suited our party of 4 adults and 4 kids all 8 and under. The pool was a huge hit. The house was very clean and well furnished and we so enjoyed meals prepared at the house by their incredible chef team. It was nice to be a little outside of the bustle but very accessible to all the city offers. I have never had a more communicative and responsive host for our needs. It is good to note, for those with younger children perhaps, that’s the three bedrooms upstairs are not connected internally to the kitchen and three lower bedrooms. There is a covered stair case downstairs. Would for sure recommend staying here and taking in all that this house and host offer.

This was such a wonderful place, I highly recommend it. Beautiful and charming place in a great location. We stayed together several families and it was perfect. Privacy with separate rooms for each families and great common spaces where we could hang out together and the kids could play. The pool was fantastic - beautiful and great size. The kids loved it. It was easy to get to everything in and around siem reap, using grab tuk tuks, but the place itself was quiet and peaceful. The host was so helpful and responsive. Every time we sent a message we had a reply shortly after. We received local recommendations and helpful support arranging restaurants, airport transfers etc. We would definitely stay here again!

Large grounds, large pool, clean and nicely designed building. We stayed here for 3 nights with a friend's Cambodian family of 4 and our Japanese family of 4. The location is a bit far from the center of the city, but a short tuk-tuk ride away, and the location is nice and quiet. March was just the dry season, so the temperature was hot and the nice pool was open all day. Our children are 3 and 5 years old and a third of the pool is shallow enough for a 3 year old to play safely. The kids played in the pool from morning to night. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Siem Reap! I recommend it to everyone!

Great place in Siep Reap! Lots of additional amenities available to be added on to make the stay easier/more enjoyable. We rented scooters ($10 a day) to get around and it was super easy to get into town. AC worked great and we had a super comfortable stay.

Beautiful place right at the center of the city. Love the swimming pool especially after a hot day of walking outside or just morning exercise. Would stay there again.

The location was great, quiet during the day. Tuk tuks were easy to book via Grab and there were also good food options nearby. It’s a village house in a residential area and there was some music at night and dogs barking periodically, we found keeping the fan on helped with the noise. The house is not super sound proofed. We did enjoy the sound of the cicadas and the Tokay gecko, the squirrels and other wildlife. We even saw a Great Hornbill one afternoon in a tree above the house which was special. The house is a little smaller than it looks in the photos but we were a small family so it worked well for us. Food wise we would recommend the Peace Cafe nearby and Haven restaurant, a short ride away. The Muffin Man was good for takeaway too.

Amazing house with amazing hosts! The home was gorgeous and very clean. We loved swimming in the pool. We utilized the home’s additional services as well, such as having a chef prepare lunch for us one afternoon. It was the best meal we had in Cambodia! The location was great. It was easy for us to walk around the city or hire a Grab driver. The home was also very cool, with mini air conditioning units in every bedroom. It was a relief from the outdoor heat. Would definitely stay here again!

Remote location, but the driver will come whenever you text him. Tuktuk for the whole day to take you to all the temples and market. He will also pick you up in a car to go up Kulen Mountain. Grab will deliver meals to location. Music and construction noise in the neighborhood, but ends at 10 and starts around 6am. overall, very happy and would stay again

Great location, exactly as described. 6 bedrooms where all lovely. Villa is well equipped and safe, close restaurants and bars. Only downside was the pool, it was lovely, but due to vegetation it didn’t get much sun and there are only 2 sun beds … communication was great, airport pick up was arranged and super smooth as were the massage services. Would definitely recommend and return.

We had an absolutely incredible time at this house and fell in love with every aspect of it. It felt like a true home away from home, offering comfort and warmth in every corner. Great and beautiful house with traditional wooden structure. Clean and functional with comfortable beds and very authentic feeling. The pool is gorgeous and is naturally filtered by plants so you won't be bathing in chemicals! The host is very attentive and responsive and answered all our questions, got things delivered at the house for us. Anything we asked was taken care of properly and quickly. Location is very central, just outside of the busy center in a safe and quiet local neighborhood. 100 % recommend and would absolutely stay again!!

One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed in with a group. My family of 7 had an incredible stay at Sok Villa! The property is gorgeous and felt like a private oasis. The pool was especially beautiful in the mornings with birds chirping and the day breaking. The staff was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay. We arranged the chef’s dinner on two nights and they were excellent. Highly recommend this stay.

The Wat Bo house was a lil oasis. The design of the wooden house is what caught my eye. They Cambodian decor/landscape design was on spot and made us feel calm and at home. We were a 3 generation family with 6 people. The house was set up to have our own space to enjoy meals together or hammocks to have quiet time. What I thought was brilliant and an added benefit was the hosts had set a site that we could book drivers/guides, massages, food or a chef to come in and cook. Pool was loved my all!!

We stayed for 4 days at the Wat Bo house, it was magical. Get the massages . There are restaurants around and there is always tuktuk to grab if you feel like Pub Street, but the chef was excellent (better than restaurant) If I were redoing my trip, I would have gotten all chef meals that I could. The art around Wat Bo is gorgeous, the pool is warmish but cool on a hot day, The air conditions in the room were cold. The refrigerator was stocked with glass water bottles making it easy to stay hydrated. We only had 6 people, so we had lots of space, but the 5 bedrooms could have accommodated more. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful and quiet places.

The villa was great for our family of 8. They helped us organize airport pickup and the price was very reasonable. When we arrived to the house a couple of people were there to greet us. It was raining and they were prepared with umbrellas. The house is nice and it was very clean. We hired the driver for every day and he was the best. The owner of the house owns a restaurant called Fellini, we went to eat there one day and the Italian food was truly delicious. Thank you!

Spacious place with 5 large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Each room in a separate building across this private estate. Nice swimming pool. 5 minute tuk-tuk ride to restaurants, coffee shops and down-town.

Great stay! I really liked how the house was a bit outside of the hustle and bustle of Pub Street and the old market. The neighborhood is super chill and great local street food can be found within a short walk of the house. It's also an easy 20-minute walk to the main tourist areas or a cheap fast tuk-tuk ride. Andrea and his staff were great at communicating and very flexible with us. Great experience all around.

Is Siem Reap worth visiting?

Siem Reap is one of the most popular destinations in Cambodia and home to the world-famous Angkor Wat temples. Most people come to Siem Reap to visit the temples, but quickly realise that there is a lot more to see and do in the town other than visit temples.

There’s plenty of activities, many places to visit and some great food from all over the world in this small tourist town.

What is Siem Reap famous for?

Siem Reap is famous for the temples of Angkor. Of course, the most famous temple is Angkor Wat, but there are many other temples to visit during your time here.

Many people enjoy visiting Ta Prohm temple which was the location for the famous Tomb Raider move. There’s also Bayon temple, which is where you’ll see the towers with hundreds of faces looking down at you.

Moreover, you’ll find plenty of smaller temples to explore.

But it’s not all about the temples, you’ll quickly realise that there’s a lot more to see and do in Siem Reap.

How many days should I spend in Siem Reap?

Most people stay only 3 or 4 days in Siem Reap. During that time, they will go to see the temples, do a few activities in town, and explore a bit. If you want to pack as much as you can in your days travelling, then 3 or 4 days is great.

However, if you want to take your travels at a slower pace, you can easily spend a week or more in Siem Reap, explore everything the town has to offer and get in some much-needed relaxation time!

When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?

There are two seasons in Siem Reap, the cooler high season and the hot low season. During the high season, the temperatures are cooler, there isn’t a lot of rain, and many people choose to visit during this time.

However, that isn’t to say that you shouldn’t come during the low season. Yes, it may be hotter, and it may rain more. But there’s fewer tourists around, the countryside turns into a lush green colour, and it doesn’t rain so much that you still can’t sit and relax by the swimming pool for most of the day.
